Preserving
our Heritage
McDonald’s
respect for the local culture is also
demonstrated through the efforts it
has undertaken in the maintenance
of heritage structures. E.g. our restaurant
opposite the bustling Chhatrapati
Shivaji Terminus (CST), Mumbai is
located in a Grade II-B heritage structure.
This restaurant, our sixth restaurant
in western India is part of a road
lined entirely with heritage buildings
of invaluable historic importance.
We restored the formerly dilapidated, exterior façade, taking special care to ensure that there was no damage to the building. We were able to achieve a quaint French café look for the site. We have also redone our signage in accordance with the norms laid down by the D. N. Road Association, and were the first establishment to do so.
